Where in the World is GEN-Y Pandamonium? - Week 3!!!
Week 3!!! Last week The GEN-Y Doctor took our cover to the world's largest apple, because as the old saying says, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away!". We're hoping this will protect him for the duration of his journey and he won't need to visit her again (fingers crossed). Now onto the next location. Read the blurb below and the description, then give us your best guess at his location. Try hard to ignore the ridiculously cute child in this picture he is there to distract you (and his amazing smile does a pretty good job of it)! You have until Friday at 2pm pst to get your guesses in. Good Luck!
This store features cloth diapers, eco-baby goods, local dairy, produce, homebrewing and cheese making supplies all under one roof! Yes, all under one roof. Which has to make it one of my favorite cloth diapering places ever and a place I must visit! It is located in the state that has the second most visited national park in the United States. I've been corrected the fun facts website I got my information from is out of date. Based on last year's figures it is now the 9th most visited National Park. Sorry if this confused anyone :).

Winchester, VA, USA
Well we either need to make these harder or you guys are becoming very good at searching. Everyone got this week's location correct! Our little Panda made a stop in Winchester, VA to take a bite out of the World's largest apple. Congratulations to Michelle who is this week's winner.
Have a great weekend and we'll see you back here on Monday. Next week's location is a bit harder so I'll give you a hint to chew on for the weekend.
Hint: A famous children's author who lived in this state, won 2 very prestigious medals for his books in the 1940's.

Aloha Izzy

What is your number one cover you grab for ??
Thanks
Kai and his momma in Hawaii
Hi Kai and his Momma!
Hawaii, huh? I would love to visit. My Mama went when she was about my age but the only thing she remembers is feeling sea sick. Probably not the highlight of the trip...
On to your question! The ladies who work here have come from two places: our family and our customers.
Did you know that Anne is my Grandma? It's true; there are three generations of my family working at GEN-Y. And my dad does the website and a lot of the behind the scenes stuff.
Kristin, Jessie, Dawn, and Jenni where all cloth diapering mamas who jumped up and wanted to help when we needed it. If you have ever wanted to work for GEN-Y keep an eye on the Facebook page. That is the main place we post job openings.
The covers I reach for are the fuzzy ones. I have been asking my Mama if they make Minkee Underwear since I would like to plan for the years after potty learning. No luck yet.

Known as the "World's Largest Apple", this statue was originally used in a parade float in the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival (a BIG deal in this city). The apple's home is now on the front lawn of what used to be Civil War General, Phil Sheridan's Mansion. This apple is inspired the design of more than 20 other big apples that have been decorated, auctioned off, and placed all around the city.

It's time to ask Izzy....
Can you show us your friends at the factory? How many work there? What does it look like?

Thanks!
Curious in Columbus
Dear Curious,
I have a lot of friends at the factory, more than 200; and we actually all went down to visit yesterday. I was a huge success; mom had me hanging out in the carrier the whole time and everyone said how comfortable and adorable I looked. Of course, they were right! I did manage to take some snap shots to bring back and share. This is the sewing room. They don't just make GEN-Y covers, they make all kinds of things here.
This is the cutting room. Everyone was at lunch, but they can cut hundreds of layers of fabric at a time on these tables.
And this is our spot in the storage room. Mom found some surprises. There was a lot of squealing and jumping up and down while she and Kristin looked through our stock. One of the rolls in this picture, previously only released as a Classic, is going to become a Universal cover. Which one, do you think?
